Professor Graeme Turner is ARC Federation Fellow, Director of the Centre for Critical and Cultural Studies, and Professor of Cultural Studies at the University of Queensland. He is also the convenor of the ARC Cultural Research Network and a past president of the Academy. Professor Turner is only the second humanities scholar to have been appointed as a personal member of the Prime Minisher's Science, Engineering and Innovation Council. He has been one of the key figures in the development of cultural studies in Australia and has a strong international reputation in the field. He has published over 20 books in media and cultural studies, and his work has been translated into 8 languages.
