The Australian Academy of the Humanities acknowledges, with deep sadness, the death of Emeritus Professor Stephen Gaukroger FRHistS FRSA FRSN FAHA.
Stephen had a substantial international reputation in three related fields, the philosophy of science, the history of science and mathematics, and the history of philosophy. In each of these fields he established himself as one of the most significant figures in Australasia.
We extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. He will be greatly missed.
