Biography

Martyn Lyons is Professor of History in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of New South Wales. He has researched and published on the history of the French Revolution, on nineteenth-century cultural history, and New Caledonia. His current interests focus on the history of the book and of reading and writing practices in Europe and Australia. He was awarded the Centenary Medal in 2003 and is a former President of the Australian Historical Association (2008-10).
