Support the humanities
As the world grows increasingly interconnected and complex, the humanities empower us to think and act creatively and critically, to reason, to ask questions and to solve problems.
By supporting the Academy, you’ll be investing in Australia’s brightest thinkers dedicated to understanding our world and imagining a better future for all.
Make a donation
As an independent, charitable and not-for-profit organisation, we rely on the generosity of our donors and partners to ensure we can continue to champion the unique role the humanities plays in understanding the past, explaining the world we live in, and imagining and shaping the future.
Your tax-deductible gift will be used where the need is greatest across our activities, including:
- supporting early and mid-career researchers through grants and awards
- ensuring national decision makers have access to the best cultural, creative and ethical expertise to inform policy development, and
- creating platforms for respectful debate and inspired thinking from the humanities and broader cultural sector on issues of national and global importance.
For more substantial gifts, we would be delighted to work with you to establish a new prize, medal, grant or lecture named in your honour.
We are registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). We also have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.
Making a lasting impact
Leaving a bequest or gift in your Will to the Academy is a powerful way to support the future of the humanities without affecting your current finances.
You can leave it up to the Academy to decide how your bequest is used, or you can specify an area of work you would like to support.
Unspecified gifts will be used where the need is greatest across the Academy.
With more substantial gifts, we often establish a new named prize, medal, grant or lecture as a mark of the donor’s generosity.
Letting us know
We invite you to let us know about your intention to leave a gift in your Will to the Academy so that we have the opportunity to celebrate your generosity and demonstrate the impact your gift will have.
