Biography

Lyndell Prott is Honorary Professor at the University of Queensland and the former Director of UNESCO’s Division of Cultural Heritage. She was formerly Professor of Cultural Heritage Law at the University of Sydney, holding law degrees from Australia, Belgium and Germany. At UNESCO she was responsible for its Conventions and Recommendations on the protection of cultural heritage and for negotiations on three multinational treaties on cultural heritage. She has published 300 items (books, reports, chapters, articles and other) available in 12 languages, and has been honoured for her work in Cultural Heritage Law by Austria, Australia and by the American Institute of Archaeology.
