We warmly invite you to join us for our 55th Annual Academy Dinner, hosted by the Academy Council. 

Professor Glyn Davis AC, Secretary, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet will give a short lecture at the Annual Academy Dinner. Proceedings also include formal presentations of awards to the recipients of the 2024 Crawford Medal, Medal for Excellence in Translation, and the John Mulvaney Fellowship. 

Join us before the dinner for the Fellows Signing Ceremony. 

Event Date: 6.00pm for the Signing Ceremony and 6.30-10.00pm for Dinner, Thursday 14 November 2024
Venue: The Gandel Atrium, National Museum of Australia

Our 2024 Symposium, The ideas & ideals of Australia: The Lucky Country turns sixty, on 14 & 15 November 2024 at the Australian National University.

The 60th anniversary of Donald Horne’s landmark book, The Lucky Country, prompts us to think afresh about Australian culture and social changes, and ask: are ordinary Australians fulfilling their aspirations?
