Biography

For many years Nikolas Coupland directed the Cardiff University Centre for Language and Communication Research. He currently holds part-time affiliations at University of Technology Sydney, where he is Distinguished Professor of Sociolinguistics, and at Copenhagen University.He is founding editor, with Allan Bell, of the Journal of Sociolinguistics. With Adam Jaworski he co-edits the Oxford University Press book series, Oxford Studies in Sociolinguistics.
