Awarded Doctorat de l’Università de Paris, mention: Très Honorable, Sorbonne, 1960. Appointed Assistant Lecturer, Queen’s College, Dundee (campus of the University of Saint Andrews), 1960. Lecturer, University of Melbourne, 1961. Senior Lecturer, University of Adelaide, 1963. Retired in 1994. Visiting Research Fellow, University of Adelaide, 1995 to the present.
