Biography

Angus Martin is Emeritus Professor of French Studies at the University of Sydney. From 1961-99, Angus Martin taught at both Macquarie University and at the University of Sydney. His principal research area continues to be eighteenth-century French fiction, but he has also published on aspects of French culture and the pedagogy of his discipline. He is a member of the Australian Academy of the Humanities and was Chair of the National Scholarly Communications Forum from 1993 until 2001. He is also currently President of the Sydney University Arts Association.
