Biography
Amanda Nettelbeck is a Professor in the Institute of Humanities & Social Sciences, Australian Catholic University (Melbourne) and Professor of History, University of Adelaide. Her research focuses upon settler colonial history, the nature of historical memory and its legacies, and the relationship of Aboriginal peoples to colonial law.
Her most recent book is Indigenous Rights and Colonial Subjecthood: Protection and Reform in the 19th Century British Empire; (Cambridge University Press, 2019).
She is a member of the Executive Committees of the Australian Historical Association, the International Australian Studies Association, and the Australian & New Zealand Law & Historical Society.
