Biography

Chin Liew Ten (C.L. Ten) is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the National University Of Singapore. He retired in 2015 and now lives in Australia.

He was Professor of Philosophy and Head of the Philosophy Department at National University of Singapore. He held a Personal Chair at Monash University, Australia. He was an Invitation Fellow, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science; Honorary Consultant, Law Reform  Commission of Victoria; Visiting Professor at the Graduate School,  City University of New York; External Examiner in Philosophy at University Science Malaysia and External Examiner in Philosophy at the National University of Singapore.

His publications include Mill on Liberty; and Crime, Guilt and Punishment. He has served on the editorial boards of several journals, including the Australasian Journal of Philosophy; Utilitas; Journal of Political Philosophy; Politics, Philosophy and Economics.

He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Humanities and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences.
