Biography

Jakob Hohwy is Professor of Philosophy at Monash University. His work in the philosophy of mind and cognition is internationally recognised for its significant contributions to central problems about perception, consciousness, and representation. His critical analyses and development of cutting-edge work in the cognitive neurosciences have also issued in substantial, philosophically-informed contributions to experimental psychology and cognitive neuropsychiatry. His book The Predictive Mind (2013) has had enormous influence in philosophy and science alike: it offers an entirely novel approach to the oldest problems in the philosophy of perception, and sets new agendas in philosophy of psychiatry.
