Biography

John Heil is Professor of Philosophy, Washington University, USA; Honorary Professor, Department of Philosophy, Durham University, UK; and Honorary Research Associate, Department of Philosophy, Monash University. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Philosophical Association.

Heil, who works primarily in metaphysics and the philosophy of mind, was a Fulbright Fellow at Monash University in 2020 and the recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship in 201819. His most recent books include From an Ontological Point of View (2003), The Universe as We Find It (2012), Appearance in Reality (2021) and What is Metaphysics? (2021).
