Biography

Tanya Dalziell is Professor of English and Literary Studies at the University of Western Australia, where she is Chair of the Department of English and Cultural Studies. She is the current Vice-President of the Association for the Study of Australian Literature; an executive member of the Australian University Heads of English group; and the co-editor of the journal Australian Literary Studies.  Her first book, Settler Romances and the Australian Girl (2004) won the Walter McRae Russell Prize for Australian literary scholarship; one of her more recent books, Half the Perfect World: Writers, Dreamers and Drifters on Hydra 1955-1964 (2018), co-written with Paul Genoni, was the recipient of the Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Non-Fiction.
