Biography

Stephen Kolsky is currently Associate Professor in the Department of French, Italian and Spanish at the University of Melbourne. He was awarded a BA(Hons) in European Langauges by the University of Hull (UK) in 1977. His doctorate from the University of London in 1981, was a study of a Renaissance courtier, Mario Equicola. He was appointed lecturer at the University of Liverpool (UK) in 1980 and in 1982 came to the University of Melbourne. Stephen Kolsky specialises in the Italian Renaissance, particularly in the northern Italian courts of the early Renaissance. He also has strong interests in 17th century Italian literature.
