Biography

Emeritus Professor Francis West was elected to the Australian Academy of the Humanities in 1968 as one of its Foundation Fellows. He was Dean of Social Sciences from 1976-83 and Professor of History and Government 1976-90 at Deakin University, Overseas Fellow at Churchill College, Cambridge from 1984-85, and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research and Development) at Deakin University 1987-90.
