Biography

Geraldine Barnes is Emeritus Professor in the Department of English at the University of Sydney. She was appointed McCaughey Professor of English Language and Early English Literature in 2008 and was the Director for the Medieval and Early Modern Centre in 2011. She is currently the co-General Editor of the series ‘Making the Middle Ages’ and ‘Medieval Voyaging.’ Her areas of research include Old Norse-Icelandic Studies, Travel and Literature, Middle English Literature, Medievalism, medieval Icelandic romance.
