Biography

Ray Choate was University Librarian of the University of Adelaide for 25 years (1999-2015) and has taken a leading role in promoting books and publishing in Australian humanistic life. In 1998 he founded the Australian Library Publishers Society, and was responsible for the compilation and editing of an illustration index covering Australian art, published in monographs. In 1996 he established the Barr Smith Press as the publishing arm of the Barr Smith Library.
