Biography

Archie Roach AM, 2020 Victorian of the Year, was an internationally renowned Aboriginal singer, songwriter, and member of the Stolen Generations. Roach, a multi-award-winning artist, was forcibly removed from his family as a young child and as a response has dedicated his career to telling the story of the Stolen Generations through song and working with young Indigenous people who have similar experiences. He was awarded numerous accolades including ARIA Awards, Best Indigenous Album and Best New Talent and later a Human Rights television award for Land of the Little Kings, a feature-length documentary about the Stolen Generations.
