Vale Emeritus Professor Graham Connah AM FAHA FRAI FSA: 1934 – 2023

The Australian Academy of the Humanities acknowledges, with deep sadness, the death of Emeritus Professor Graham Connah AM FAHA FRAI FSA.

Graham was an internationally renowned Archaeologist whose main research field was African archaeology. He was also considered one of the pioneers of Australian historical archaeology, with his major contribution being ‘The Archaeology of Australia’s History’.

Graham was the founding editor of the journal Australasian Historical Archaeology, and a past President of the Australasian Society for Historical Archaeology.

We extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. He will be greatly missed.
