Meet Viv, the AI character helping to shape dementia care

Drop by for a chat with Viv, an artificially intelligent (AI) character, co-created with women living with dementia. Viv is an authority on the experience of dementia diagnosis and living with hallucinations.

Event details

When: An introduction by Viv’s creator Jill Bennett will take place at 12.50pm. Meet Viv during session breaks on 16 and 17 November 2023.

Where: Kaleide RMIT Union Theatre Foyer

Developed by the ARC Laureate Felt Experience & Empathy Lab [fEEL],  Viv is one of a suite of digital companion characters, distinctive for being co-created by or with people with lived experience, using their words, insights and experiences to shape personas and discourse.

Jill Bennett will discuss the evolution and applications of these characters and the value of combining ‘bottom up’ lived experience-led research with the use of AI character engines designed for gaming contexts.

Join us on 16 and 17 November for our 54th Annual Academy Symposium — Between humans & machines: exploring the pasts and futures of automation — as we explore the possibilities and hazards of automation, and the complexities of human-machine relations.
